French Coast to Canal du Midi

Day 1 on the Canal du Midi... The canal is listed as a world heritage monument because of its quality water structures ie bridges, aquaducts, viaducts, locks. It is also known for its plane trees lining each side of the canal. Unfortunately many have become victim to 'cancer stain' disease and have been removed. It will take a while for the ones that have been replanted to grow to their full height.
